21.08.2015 Friday

I keep on removing my written texts
that are referring to the period of my holidays.
I use the precise date that i did my exercise.
03.09.2015

The second day that i stayed in Athens it was the 138th ongoing day of running. I followed another route, the opposite one from Galatsi to Ano Kipseli.

I started running after I crossed the avenue of Galatsi and i passed through the grove that is close to the school of Grava and going up to Elikona hill. I saw two Policemen walking and i realized that i was moving at the neighborhood of our Prime Minister.

I knew that Alexis Tsipras stayed there and fortunately they didn't stop me for data recognition. They didn't do it even later when i run downhill to the other side of Elikona. It was the day that he resigned from his duties and started the procedure for the elections. This happened faster than my pulses that time. I can't imagine the surprise if they had stopped me and realized that i had with me only my mobile phone and 0'50 cent for buying a bottle of water. I didn't think it before but if you run in a city like Athens you need to keep your id with you.

After that i kept going uphill to the ring road of Galatsi passing trough small steps and small roads. At the end of the climbing i went to the big downhill of Protopapadaki Street and i started finishing my training time.

This was the end of the circle. Always there are some circles that open and close. This is the "law" of the circles in life.

On the occasion of passing through the house of the Prime Minister i remembered another Prime Minister, Simiti and his house at Kolonaki Street. At that period of time it was an area full of policemen in the square and all around his house.

And then the Kostas’ Spano’s bar “Jazz in jazz” came up in my mind (at Dinokratous Street) a place that i went very often when i was studying in Athens and afterwards when i was working.

Passing the ring road of Galatsi i thought about my winter nights there, driving my motorbike while i was returning back to the student residence at Zografou area. So many routes to think, Psihiko, the Alexandras Avenue, Gizi. So many routes, reminded me the years that passed, memories from another phase of my life.

I kept going to Veikou and reminded many more routes, going to Irakleio, Marouse, Halandri and sometimes the "grazy route" to Rafina, where i was working and following the way through Penteli and Artcity.

A lot of times my friends made fun with me and ask me: "from what are you trying to escape when you run?" I use to answer that i don’t actually run for escaping but catching things. Now i can say that i run for both or for many more than that.

Nevertheless, running helps more for welcoming or saying goodbye to different situation. Some are familiar, other unknown, easy or difficult things. Everything has a reason of existence and the result is a sea full of feelings, images, memories, judgments and awareness.

When you run many things are coming or leaving, in a practical way you lead the landscape to change.

We are here to experience all these changes...
